Colebridge Trust and Enterprises has been working with the West Midlands Combined Authority and other partners to highlight the contribution of the social economy sector in the West Midlands.
In addition we are one of about 10 social economy cluster leads who are trying to grow the social economy through innovation, collaboration and peer-to-peer support.
The sector rivals the hospitality sector in terms of income and staff. These organisations also deliver social value and have a strong social purpose.
Colebridge has been delivering assembly and packing services for many years. We have delivered services for automotive, electrical wholesale, health & beauty and the electronics industry. Our other output is the opportunity that we provide often marginalised groups. People with learning difficulties, disabilities and long-term health issues. We have helped people to regain confidence, dignity and regain a sense of purpose.
With the above in mind and our other work around food poverty and health & wellbeing, we were nominated in the "Social Impact - Making a Difference" category and finalists for 2024.
Working with social enterprise and charitable organisations is a great way to make a difference and meet your social value objectives. Truth be known, the sector needs private and public sector partners who are willing to give us a go.
